Dev Log
Features, fixes, and infrastructure changes to the WoolawayWx platform.
Version 2.0.0-beta1
Complete platform rebuild — new design system, PWA support, and improved weather tooling.
What's New
Platform Rebuild
The entire WoolawayWx website has been rebuilt from the ground up on Nuxt 4 with a modern design system. The new stack brings faster page loads, better mobile performance, and a cleaner codebase to build on going forward.
PWA / Installable App
The site is now a fully installable Progressive Web App. Add it to your home screen on iOS or Android for a native-app experience with a dedicated bottom navigation bar, push notification support, and safe-area-aware layouts.
Push Notifications
Subscribe to weather alerts and get notified when severe weather, winter weather, or other significant events are issued for your area. Manage your subscription from the Alerts hub.
Improved Weather Pages
- Severe Weather — SPC risk category overlays and polygon rendering for active watches/warnings
- Forecasts — hourly and multi-day forecasts with improved map integration
- Current Conditions — live WAWS data with a refreshed gauge-style display
- Winter Weather — dedicated page for winter storm tracking and snowfall data
- Agriculture — new section for ag-specific weather data
Blog
A fully integrated weather blog powered by the WoolawayWx CMS, supporting rich content, images, and tagging.
Alerts System
A revamped alerts hub with team-access controls and product display pages for active NWS products.
Infrastructure
- Deployed on Cloudflare Pages with edge-rendered routes
- API running on a dedicated server with PM2 process management
- Content managed via Nuxt Studio + D1 in production
